Existing home sales proved very strong in March and now put housing in position to be a strong contributor to the 2017 economy. Though little changed on Friday, stocks posted a solid week with the Dow up 0.5 percent to 20,547. Bonds, supported by uncertainty over French elections this Sunday, held onto their strong gains of the prior two weeks with the 10-year yield ending at 2.22 percent. The dollar index eased 0.6 percent on the week to 99.96 while oil fell 5.0 percent but held the $50 level at $50.26.
