Monster collects job postings from 1,500 web sites (including Monster.com) and creates an index of job availability, akin to The Conference Board's help wanted index. The monster employment index jumped sharply for a second straight month, to 185 from 177 in February and compared with 168 in January. The report said the latest gain was broadly based with special strength in legal professions. The Labor Department will release the March employment report tomorrow.
